"Please don't put it on facebook"

Madalyn & Amelia were watching the Bridge to Terabithia when we were driving back from Lanikai this weekend. (I should have watched it first, but Jeff picked it out and let the girls watch it.) Anyways, we were almost back home and I turned around to see Madalyn crying after one of the characters died. It was so cute. We talked about how sometimes movies can make us cry but there is usually a happy ending (and there was thank goodness!!!). After supper, Madalyn asked me to "please don't put it on facebook"! She even promised to clean her room for 2 weeks if I didn't post it there. So I'm posting it on the family blog....lol!

I'm missing Jeff today! He was gone for a week and then home for 2 days and then gone again. That is just cruel...lol.

Now I need to start getting all the stuff ready for the deployment. fun...

When my shoulders are hurting, I have Amelia walk on my back and it usually makes a popping sound. Today she walked on me and it popped 3 different times. She said "Wow, mom. You are popular!"

Here and Gone again...

Jeff got home Friday night and left again early Monday. We did get to go to the Submarine Birthday Ball. We had a good time and enjoyed some wardroom craziness! When we were coming home, we couldn't find the car in the parking garage. We seriously thought someone had stolen it (but really, who would steal a 1999 Honda Civic?!?!). It was the only conclusion we could come to after walking around and around in the parking garage (lots of fun in heals!!). We finally went to the toll booth and she said the supervisor would be back shortly. So Jeff walked the path we took when we drove in. (or at least the path he "thought" we took. Keep in mind that he had a lot of fun earlier in the evening...lol) The supervisor came and I told him our car was gone. He said "no, it's not". I told him where we thought we parked it. I hopped in the golf cart and he drove (a little too fast!!!) straight to the car. Thank goodness :)

Today the girls learned the importance of reading the directions. Amelia wanted to make muffins this morning and Madalyn helped her. By the time we knew about it, all the ingredients were already mixed together. Unfortunately, Madalyn put in about 2 cups of milk instead of the 3/4 cup that the recipe said. I *poured* the batter into the muffin tins. They tasted ok - very dense blueberry muffins!

Daily Stuff..

This week has been busy so far. Monday I went paddling, had a knitting lesson, appointment to file state taxes, FRG Planning meeting plus working on proofs. Today I went to kickboxing, did housework, worked on proofs and took care of baby Gigi for a few hours. The girls enjoyed being the "babysitters". They took turns feeding her and pushing her in the stroller. They were too cute :)

Easter Weekend...

Friday was a rainy day in Hawaii. We stayed inside and waited for the Community Potluck and Easter Egg Hunt. Of course, the rain started again and it was postponed. Jeff went out to sea on Friday too. I feel sorry for whoever was topside!! The rain was pretty heavy at times.

Saturday we went to the Hickam Friends of the Library sale. The girls love it! At a quarter a piece, it is cheap way to pick up a few new books. I occassionally even find a new book for me too! The girls had a birthday party in the afternoon and then went to a friends' house while I finished up with a photo session. I met them later at the community potluck. It was a busy day and the girls went to bed without arguing :) I, of course, stay up way too late when Jeff is gone!

Today we went to church early to get a seat. As predicted, it was crazy busy!! This afternoon we went to a friend's house for Easter dinner. We had a great time. I enjoyed chatting with the ladies and the kids had a blast - fort, slip 'n slide and a water slide - what more could you ask for!?!

Today was my first kickboxing class. (I bought a 3 month membership at the Dolphin Scholarship Auction.) This is not like the kickboxing class I took in Georgia. That was more aerobics with kickboxing moves - no actual contact. This class involves getting my hands wrapped and wearing boxing gloves!! Since it was my first class, I did the warm up with the class and then had individual instruction. Non stop workout!! It was great and I was worn out by the end. I'm a little sore now. No pain, no gain :) I'm looking forward to the next class (even got my own hand wraps. Don't really want to wear someone else's sweaty wraps!)

I've recommended his blog before. Just an amazing story! Anyways, he is going to be on Oprah next week. I'll definitely be watching.

Lost Tooth!!

Amelia lost her first tooth tonight. She even pulled it out herself. There were a few tears, but she did great!! She wants to take the tooth to school tomorrow so we are waiting till tomorrow to put it under her pillow.
She finally lost a tooth!!

Her tooth pillow that I made
(borrowed the idea from my friend Katie)

The little heart on the back holds the tooth.

Sharing a song...

that is stuck in my head!

Give me back that fillet o' fish
Give me that fish
Give me back that fillet o' fish
Give me that fish
What if it were you hanging up on this wall?
If it were you in that sandwich, you wouldn't be laughing at all

Now you can all sing along with me!

Quote from Madalyn...

Elle was asking how long the Star Wars movies are. Madalyn said "the last one is 3 hours because it is soo epic!"
