Baby...

Today we had our first official OB appointment. Jeff was able to make it too. After some searching, we were able to hear the heartbeat! 160 bmps :) Everything is going well. I feel tired more often, but I'll take that over real morning sickness!

Time

We have been enjoying some time with Jeff before his deployment. He has been able to take the girls to the pool and even watched them at swim lessons. He spent a little time finishing his scuba lessons. We bought a crib and got it put together in case the little one comes before he gets home. Amelia is very excited and wants the crib in her room, but we told her she had to wait until the baby sleeps thru the night. A neighbor gave me some maternity clothes and a baby name book. Amelia loves to look thru the book and find names. She wants to name it "Ben10" or "Batman" if it is a boy (and no, those names were not in the book!). Madalyn is excited about the baby too, but not as much as Amelia! On Memorial Day, we went to the USS Missouri and the Pacific Aviation Museum. We spent the rest of the day relaxing!

On Friday, we have our first official OB appointment. If all goes as planned, Jeff will be there too and get to hear the baby's heartbeat!

Jeff is on leave!!

Jeff has been on leave for the past three days. All good things come to an end and he goes back to work tomorrow :( But we had fun while it lasted. Saturday night, Jeff and I went on a dinner cruise. It was a nice evening out! We spent Sunday afternoon at a Hail & Farewell party. There were lots of kids and a water slide so the girls had a great time and came home tired! Even better!! Monday I convinced Jeff to go paddling with me. I think he liked it and he is a little sore today from it!! Today we were busy getting "stuff" done - legal forms, safety inspections and buying supplies. We even managed to have lunch together and check out the baby stuff at Target :) Now Jeff is at scuba lessons again. He is really enjoying it! He is hoping to get some time to go on a dive when they go to Guam. I've been craving anything spicy. I don't think the baby enjoyed tonight's spicy dinner though!

Yes, we're having a baby!

We are very excited to announce that we are having another baby. My due date is December 24th! We found out on April 17th and managed to keep it a secret for a little while. Jeff had to fill out pre-deployment paperwork for the boat so a few people found out last week. Then some other people happened to see the list and the word got out. So we finally told everyone. We told the girls on Sunday before church. I said "you are going to have a baby brother or sister!" Madalyn kept saying "Who?". She was expecting another neice or nephew. Then she said "Are you insane?" That is her newest favorite saying. They are both excited! Amelia wants a baby brother and of course, Madalyn wants a baby sister. When Amelia came to tell me good night, she said "I love you mommy and I love the baby". So sweet :) She keeps looking at me and then at my stomach and gets the cutest little grin!

Mother's Day

I woke up at 2:30am on Mother's Day to hear Amelia say "I think I'm going to throw up!". Lovely way to start the day. We ended up going to church because her class was singing. She did a great job :) The rest of the day was spent relaxing.

Jeff got home on Tuesday for a brief stay before they head out on the 6 month deployment. There is so much to get done before he leaves, but I'm trying to ignore the deadline!

Amelia is still struggling to get over her double ear infection. Poor thing can't get past the fever so we are heading back to the doctor tomorrow. She went with her class on a field trip to Kualoa Ranch. It was very hot and she got tired quickly. The class went to the aquaculture - shrimp farm. I even threw out a shrimp net! Then they went to the petting zoo - bunnies, ostrich, monkey, donkey, goats, horses, sheep, llama and even a cow!

Jeff had to work a little this morning. When he got home, we went to the Marina Fun Day at Rainbow Marina. We all went out on a pontoon boat and a paddle boat. Jeff and Madalyn went out on a kayak. Madalyn thought it was the best thing ever!! I was so amazed. Amelia was obviously not feeling like herself yet and didn't want to try the kayak, but I think she will next time.

Now Jeff and I are getting ready to head out to the Ali'i Kai catamaran for a dinner cruise!!

First Communion

Madalyn had her first Holy Communion on Saturday, May 9th. It went well until the wine. My friend has a video of her reaction and I'll try to post that this week. Here are a few pictures.

Where did the week go!?!

Wow, I can't believe tomorrow is Friday! This week has gone by fast and I still have a lot to get done before Saturday. Madalyn has her 1st Communion on Saturday. I'm going to pick up a haku lei for her hair tomorrow. Saturday afternoon I'm taking pictures of the wardroom wives wearing their hubby's uniforms. A little something to send with them for deployment.

The girls started new swimming lessons this week. They are enjoying it and hopefully learning something too!

Time to get back to my "to do" list. I feel like just erasing a few of the things :)

Here and Gone again...

Seems to be a repeating theme....LOL!! At least this time he was here for a little over a week :)

We did manage to squeeze in a little fun. Birthday party, Lanikai Beach, Waikiki Aquarium and beach. We are trying to make the most of the remaining time with dad.
